Stress

is the absence of rational thought in a trying situation.

I thought about this since posting it earlier this morning, looking at it from every angle I can think of and I came across this one:
A child working in a sweat shop 18 hours a day with no perceivable escape. What is a rational thought in this case? Or rather is the child not in a stressful situation at all because it has simply become the everyday routine?
